About
The short version: I build brands, businesses and digital experiences, and I’m more interested in the space between disciplines than in any one of them.
I’m Hassan. I own and run Livo, a creative digital agency, and I build things of my own alongside it — brands, products and businesses that are usually somewhere between an idea and a working thing.
What I actually do
On paper my work spans branding, digital experiences, marketing and business. In practice it spans the gaps between them, which is where most projects quietly succeed or fail.
I design, I write code, I make motion work, I run performance marketing and I produce video. That combination is unusual enough that I’ve stopped apologising for it. It means I can follow an idea from a positioning argument through to an identity, a website, a campaign and whatever the numbers say afterwards — without handing it to four different people who each optimise their own piece.
How I think about the work
The craft matters. It’s how something earns trust in the first two seconds, and I’m not interested in shipping work that looks like an apology. But craft is the price of entry, not the point. The question I keep coming back to is what has to be true for this to have been worth building.
That question is less comfortable than talking about typography, and it’s usually more useful.
Why the disciplines aren’t separate
Because the problems aren’t. A brand that can’t survive a landing page isn’t a brand, it’s a moodboard. A beautiful site sitting on an unclear offer is an expensive way to avoid the real issue. A campaign with nothing behind it burns money faster than doing nothing.
Working across all of it is partly temperament and partly the only way I’ve found to see the whole shape of a problem.
What I’m exploring
Mostly what changes when AI stops being a feature and becomes part of how a business actually runs. I think the honest answer is that a lot of competent work becomes worthless and a lot of judgement becomes more valuable, and I’d rather be early to that than defensive about it.
Alongside that: building businesses of my own, writing more, and trying to get better at the parts of this that aren’t the artwork.
This site
This isn’t a portfolio of what I’ve done. It’s the beginning of a record of what I’m building, thinking about and becoming. It’s deliberately unfinished — you’re looking at version 0.1 — and it will get more interesting as it accumulates.
If any of this overlaps with something you’re working on, say hello.
Currently building a few things. Happy to talk about yours.
